There are literally hundreds of websites where you can get free stuff, so why not make use of them? It only takes a bit of effort and you can get loads of things for nothing.

You might be reluctant to use them because we tend to assume we’ll get spammed or have to spend six hours answering questionnaires to get a free sample of shampoo… and yes, sometimes that is the case. So how to get around it?

First, get yourself a disposable email account from hotmail.co.uk or googlemail. Second, don’t ever put your phone number on anything; you don’t want the world and his wife ringing you. If asked for your address – which you’ll need to give to get the freebie – make sure you tick the box that says you don’t want them to contact you for anything else or share your details.
