Make your credit cards work for you
October 7th, 2008 | by Lynn Connelly |We’re all desperate to make our money go as far as possible at the moment, so one thing to consider is only using credit cards who offer you an incentive to do so.
An example of one such card is the Tesco Bonus credit card which is the only card on the market to give you an interest payment back to your credit card. Each year you’re a cardholder, they give you 1/12th of your annual interest payments back on the anniversary of your account.
Theres lots of lists of recommended reward cards on the internet, one will appear on this site very soon…
If you travel a lot by plane, use a credit card that offers air miles such as the MBNA BMI card or the Post Office Mastercard that gives you 0% commission when used abroad. The British Airways American Express card gives you 1 air mile per £ spent.
With the BT credit card, you can save money on your phone bill if you use it to pay your bills. Just be sure to then credit the card with the cash so you don’t get charged interest.
In addition to these money saving cards, you should take the time to swap your balances onto cards offering interest free transfers but be sure to keep on swapping because the interest rates you may get charged when the offer time runs out could be massive.
